This is a "walking" tour of a home at 18 Baywood Street that is Off of Bay Street,
in Springfield Massachusetts, that has often come up on the Tax Auction list
and I now understand has been sold to a second highest bidder.

Neighbors say that for over 17 years people just let pets do "their business" inside the home. After one person froze to death her daughter moved in- the city had to take action when the daughter kept a filthy house & relatives complained. The house is about 18x20 ft, on a 100sq' double lot with much expansion room and yard..

This property was taken over by the city in 2000, it went up for auction then and was bid at 16,000 by two boys that "walked away" from it, then it went up again and it went for 11,000, but that person "walked away from it" as well, it went again up for auction for 24,000 and that person also "walked away" and left his/her deposit. The person that bid last for 27,000 "walked away" and the next higher bidder has bought it I am told. I really like this property and am saddened that no one seems to want to repair it. I would like to be able to reapair it and live there. I am told that as of November, 2002 the new owner is the 2nd highest bidder in the last tax auction.,
