The
view on the left is from the back showing the little window in the "el"
shape that goes over the stairs going down cellar. The view on the right
shows the double windows to this small room that face the neighbor and
Bay Street (a northwesterly exposure). This room is small but I do believe
it could make a den/study and/or computer room very nicely. It would work
well to have a computer under the window you see to the left as that area
is not readily visible from the outside and hence the presence of the
computer (or any peripherals under the windows facing bay street) would
not be notice. Sooooooooooooooo I like this apartment sized house. Also
the smaller rooms might be easier to heat, especially if you can adjust
that gas furnace or have it retrofitted with various zones. The kitchen
area might provide heat also. In the floor-plan above you see the Back
entry that goes into the kitchen, and then from the kitchen back into
this room. I would probably want to place a couple of sliding doors in
the walls or enlarge the walls to accommodate them as the back room and
the back entry access the kitchen. Also a book case should probably go
against the wall that separates the room from the back entry, and maybe
some insulation and another thin wall where the walls are only a boards
width thick (as that is what they look like to me), but then closer inspection
might find the walls as thick as a 2x4 and hence insulation could be added.
You can see that steps from the back entry go down to the cellar. I also
think a sliding "pocket" door should go so that the cellar can
be closed off. Hence cold air coming in from the back entryway is not
allowed to permeate the house.
